Allow me to let you into a secret. I’m a 7-10 kinda guy. What do I mean by that? Well because most of the time I think there’s room for improvement and worried about dropping down to a 6, because let’s face it a 6 is close to a 5, and that is, eh, average.
Today I’m a 10 although I probably don’t show it. Why? Because people I respect very highly (Holmes Report) have named us their tech PR agency of the year in the worldwide category.
Even better, we’ve been recognised for all the right reasons. The reasons that are marked by the blood (only a little bit, and that happened on a dance floor – don’t ask!), sweat and tears of our team.
Those reasons include the great work we’ve done for clients, our growth, our partnerships (something I think we can and should do more of in our industry), our innovations, and the exciting brands that have chosen to work with us.
When Holmes Report refer to our “remarkable determination” they are spot on in pinning down the character of our team into a of couple words. When we see a fork in the road we’ll normally take the difficult path as that usually takes you to the best place in the end, even if it does need “remarkable determination” to get there. It is also much more interesting for us and for our clients than the standard path! Side note, Hotwire people often have low boredom thresholds and always have an eye on the next challenge.
I’d be lying if I said the past year has been easy for our team, and for the agency as we’ve taken the business through a big step change. It hasn’t, but heck it has been so much fun and it feels great and well worth it today!
The next challenge is picking straws for who gets to go to the SABRE awards in Miami, but this is just the start. As The Holmes Report said “Hotwire refuses to rest on its laurels, and is pushing forth to grow non-traditional offerings and become a truly integrated and global shop.” Cheers to that!
