London, 27 September 2007 – Romtrac, the leading provider of lone worker personal safety and workforce management solutions using proprietary mobile GPS and location based technologies, today announced appointment of Hotwire to manage its PR programme.
The London-based agency has been briefed by Romtrac to handle all its public relations activity, including launching an issues-based campaign that highlights the personal security risks faced by lone workers across different industries, and the burden of responsibility that lies with the corporate employer. Romtrac is a leading provider of lone worker solutions including a robust and discreet mobile emergency device linked to personal profiles managed by an approved emergency response centre (ERC). The solution enables accurate location, individual identification and two-way communication with lone workers. Hotwire won the Romtrac brief following a competitive pitch. The Hotwire team will report to Romtrac marketing director, Azam Butt.
Azam Butt, marketing director at Romtrac commented: “With legislative changes moving through parliament that raise the bar for corporate responsibility regarding lone worker safety, it is vital that organisations look at how technology can protect and support staff when away from the office. Without sufficient measures in place, many organisations may find that they are exposed to serious penalties when the bill comes into force. We are delighted to be working with Hotwire as our PR agency and are keen to raise awareness of company responsibility towards the safety and protection of lone workers, highlighting how our solution provides a significant step towards ensuring support and security for lone workers.” Katy Ludditt, practice head, telecoms, at Hotwire said: “When it comes to worker safety, mobile technology is pushing the boundaries of support and security available to staff working away from the office. We are excited to be working with Romtrac on a campaign that will promote their best-of-breed solution through a programme of issues-led education and information initiatives. There are serious legislative challenges on the horizon for companies with lone workers, and we look forward to raising the debate and promoting Romtrac’s solution.”
