Hotwire Issue Radar: There is no such thing as free broadband for businesses

Recent news about mobile phone retailer Carphone Warehouse launching a free broadband service with its Talk Talk fixed line contracts has sparked speculation about the future of the broadband market for Internet providers.

Many reports say that the move by Carphone Warehouse could lead to a big shake-up in the Internet providers’ pricing sector currently dominated by BT, Demon, AOL, Wanadoo and NTL.

It is important to note, however, that what looks like a tempting broadband offering for all end users, will not be suitable for small to medium sized businesses, according to the owner of the Demon Internet brand, THUS plc.
