The IT, telecoms and electronics industries account for around 10% of the UK economy. Intellect, the leading UK trade body for these industries, has 1000 members who together employ over 1.1 million people.
Given the size and power of this organisation, it is increasingly important that its views be represented in the media. Intellect has hired Hotwire to achieve this.
In a series of thought-provoking leadership campaigns for its director-general John Higgins, Hotwire will position Intellect in the national, business and broadcast media to help it influence the public agenda. The first project will unveil a radical manifesto related to the UK Government's attitude towards, and use of, information technology.
Jill Sutherland, PR manager at Intellect said: "Intellect has long been the leading organisation for IT in the UK. With IT having far more relevance and impact on our everyday lives, the time is right to fuel debates that will more broadly and directly influence public opinion."
