Hotwire Issue Radar: The Flip-Side of Broadband TV

THUS outlines the hidden benefits of being able to send footage over broadband
Recently broadband TV has been in the media spotlight like never before, especially in the light of BT's announcement to launch a service.  Yet while the benefits to the home consumer have been well documented, less well known are the IP broadcast services which will be made available to the production side of the television industry.

Just as consumers will be able to access programmes on-demand, producers will be able to download footage in real-time.  This will improve efficiency and drive down overheads related to storage, editing, courier costs and the ability to multicast.

While home broadband TV is only in trial stage in the UK, THUS's MPLS IP VPN network is ready to stream TV content through broadband and it will not be long before production companies can start sharing footage in real-time across the country.

To discuss how Hotwire's telecoms team could help your company become a thought leader on hot topics, please contact Brendon Craigie on +44 (0) 20 7608 4624 or via email at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it
