Hotwire founders launch new agency - Skywrite

Full service sister agency to Hotwire launched today
London, 22 February, 2007 - The team behind leading technology PR consultancy Hotwire today announced they are launching a new agency, Skywrite Communications. Skywrite, which has been in incubation for several months, complements Hotwire by providing full service communications to companies expanding into new markets and young, successful companies with emerging leadership positions in their industries.

Sarah Baldry has moved from Hotwire to lead the new agency. Sarah’s career spans LogicaCMG where she was a technology consultant, through to consultancies where she worked on campaigns for companies such as Tiscali, Intuit and National Semiconductor. Sarah’s major focus over the past few years has been working with emerging technology start-ups, through high-growth to IPO and beyond. The Skywrite team's experience spans b2b and b2c start-ups and blue chip brands in the telecoms, new media, electronics and software industries, including Kodak, Samsung, Orange, Bang & Olufson and IBM.

Hotwire founders Kristin Syltevik and Anthony Wilson have created a holding company for Hotwire and Skywrite. The holding company is called North by Northwest Group.
“This is a very exciting period of change for our business,” Kristin Syltevik explains. “Hotwire has grown at an incredible rate since we first formed the company just over six years ago. We realise that to continue to maintain this momentum we need to concentrate on specific areas of the technology space. Skywrite offers a range of services to companies going through a rapid growth-phase or businesses looking to ignite their brands.”
“Our ethos has always been to create teams of experts so that we know our clients’ industries inside and out. The creation of North by Northwest will allow us the possibility of putting together more teams of specialists in the future, to give a wide range of companies the benefit of communications knowledge geared to their business.”
Skywrite’s founding clients span payments, software, networking and the mobile space. Three-quarters of Skywrite’s clients are based outside the UK with several focusing on the emerging markets of Eastern Europe, Asia-Pacific and Africa.

Sarah Baldry, associate director for Skywrite commented: “We’re in the middle of a boom - many start-ups and established companies across the world are securing VC funding with a view to exit through sale or IPO. These companies have particular constraints and communication needs. We have the experience, skills and range of services to fulfil these needs and are looking forward to repeating the success achieved by Hotwire.”
