Search the web… unplugged New internet start-up Webaroo, developers of the world's first ever offline search engine, has handed it's UK launch to Hotwire, as it seeks to revolutionise the way people use the web on the move.
Webaroo, a free software service launched on Monday 10th April, allows handhelds and laptop computers to search the web and view web sites when the device is not connected to the internet, for the first time. The company was founded by Rakesh Mathur, the former CEO of Junglee.com which was famously sold to Amazon.com, Brad Husick, co-founder of NetGravity and Beerud Sheth, founder of Elance, the world’s largest online services market. In January 2006 Webaroo held a competitive pitch and chose Hotwire to handle its European launch, handling the UK initially. Reporting to Ann Burgraff, VP marketing and founders, Rakesh Mathur, Brad Husick and Beerud Sheth, the account sits in Hotwire's Consumer team, headed by Paul Naphtali. |
