31 January 2003: Hotwire bolstered by two market leaders - Brocade and Roxio

Hotwire wins the UK campaigns for world´s best selling digital media software maker Roxio and storage giant Brocade
London, 31 January 2003 – Hotwire, the European technology PR consultancy, has this week won two major competitive pitches: Roxio, maker of the world´s best selling digital media software, and storage networking market leader Brocade. The two wins add a healthy six-figure number to Hotwire´s revenues.

Hotwire is set to launch a stream of new PC and Mac products after winning the UK PR account for Roxio (www.roxio.co.uk), well-known for its family of digital media software products including Easy CD Creator and WinOnCD for Windows, Toast for Macintosh and Photo/video editing products VideoWave and PhotoSuite. The PR programme will target consumers and the SoHO audience with Roxio´s range of products which incorporates CD burning, photo and video editing software and GoBack, the number one selling system recovery software that lets users ´go back´ in time following a system crash.

"PR is a crucial part of Roxio´s sales and marketing programme. Editorial backing for our products in our target media is a key tool used to reach and influence our users. Hotwire´s brief is to consolidate our products as market leaders as well as to raise our corporate profile,” commented Scott Marx, head of EMEA corporate communications at Roxio. "We have chosen Hotwire because of their knowledge of our industry and technology, excellent relationships with our core media, as well as the importance they place on campaign measurability."

Hotwire has also won the UK and North Europe PR account for market leading storage networking supplier Brocade Communications Systems (www.brocade.com). The consultancy will help ensure the company retains its number one position in this increasingly visible and competitive market, where a number of other major IT vendors are starting to deliver competitive solutions.

Hotwire was selected as Brocade´s UK based PR agency after a competitive pitch process across Europe. “Brocade is a high profile, successful organisation and effective PR is vital to ensure that we retain our share of voice in an increasingly competitive market. Hotwire will develop and implement a fresh PR programme in order to increase awareness of Brocade to a wider business audience and build on our past success which has made us the market-leader,” said Paul Trowbridge.

“Both Brocade and Roxio have established themselves in their core markets and are looking to expand and reach wider audiences,” said Kristin Syltevik, managing partner of client services at Hotwire. “We will be devising and implementing strategic PR programmes to increase their brand visibility and product success. We are very excited to have the opportunity to work for such well recognised technology brands and help develop their market positions.“
