22 December 2004: Information service provider Factiva chooses Hotwire

Joint Venture of Dow Jones and Reuters appoints Hotwire to support PR activities in Germany
Frankfurt, 22 December 2004 - Factiva, a Dow Jones and Reuters company offering intelligent research solutions to companies that require worldwide access to reliable and relevant news and business information, has appointed Hotwire in Germany as its PR consultancy for the region.

The PR programme is centred on effectively raising awareness for Factiva and the company’s services through proactive media relations. Factiva’s solutions portfolio is a comprehensive approach to integrate external and internal information into enterprise business processes. Factiva offers access to over 9,000 different sources of information, including archives of business publications and daily newspapers. Core technology allows integration of those sources into the enterprise’s own IT infrastructure, for example, the company’s CRM system, intranet or portal. Factiva is one of the leading providers in this sector.

In selecting an agency, it was of vital importance to Dr. Matthias Hoffmann, Marketing Manager North and Central Europe, Factiva Germany, to work with a partner that proactively generates issues and has excellent media contacts at its disposal. The Factiva award, dedicated to the promotion of young scientists by honouring surpassing works on the topic of information technology, or Factiva’s Media Indices which produce different compilations of key media issues, offer great opportunities for media relations.

“Information service providers operate in an extremely competitive market with many technologies, search engines and database providers. We intend to maximise opportunities around the Factiva award and Factiva’s Media Indices to generate awareness for the company and inform the market about our portfolio,” says Dr. Hoffmann.

“Factiva’s innovative services need to be presented in a way that emphasises their business value. Our programme aims to create feature opportunities in business and industry publications. This approach is in keeping with our strictly results-orientated concept,” explains Ute Richter, Regional Partner for Hotwire Germany. Hotwire Germany’s Digital Media Practice, under the direction of Programme Director Elaine Carroll, is implementing the programme.

“Factiva is a leading provider of knowledge and information management solutions worldwide,” says Clare Hart, Chief Executive Officer, Factiva. “To also establish and strengthen this position in Germany and to effectively reach our target market, we rely upon the extensive know how of Hotwire.”
