15 August 2003: DealTime appoints Hotwire as UK PR Agency

Hotwire to raise awareness of one of the UK’s largest shopping comparison sites
London, 15 August 2003 - Hotwire, the European technology PR consultancy, today announced that it has been appointed by DealTime, one of the world’s leading online shopping comparison services, to handle consumer media relations in the UK.

Headquartered in the US, DealTime provides consumers with pricing, product and supplier information, covering goods available online ranging from mobile phones and video games to cars and lingerie. Already ranked fourth in the UK, DealTime differentiates itself from its rivals by providing high quality information on the specifications of individual products and services. The online service also offers customer reviews of retail outlets and online shopping sites, allowing visitors to make a more informed comparison and deliver merchants, who appear on DealTime, with better-qualified sales leads.

Hotwire is responsible for increasing awareness of DealTime to the consumer audience in the UK, to support the company’s strategy of emulating the success it has enjoyed in the US. The consumer programme will be focused on raising the profile of Dealtime.co.uk through a targeted campaign of reviews focused on vertical sectors including home appliances, mobile and personal computing.

The DealTime programme will be led by Sian Gaskell, senior partner at Hotwire, responsible for the consultancy’s consumer technology practice. “DealTime is an exciting player in the online retail space and we relish the challenge of helping to make the portal as successful in the British market as it has been in the US.
