06 February 2004: Hotwire presented with IPRA Golden World Award for best B2B Campaign

Hotwire recognised for successful campaign for THUS
London, UK, 6 February 2004 – At a ceremony in New York, Hotwire, the European technology PR consultancy, accepted one of the most prestigious awards in the global PR industry – an IPRA Golden World Award for Best Business-to-Business Campaign for its work with THUS, one of the UK’s leading telecommunications providers.

Hotwire was recognised for highlighting the success of THUS at a time when the telecommunications sector as a whole was facing a severe downturn, and in doing so, increasing customer confidence in the company. Following media and market research, Hotwire devised a strategic and creative PR programme for the UK which positioned THUS as a success story within an industry and media sector wallowing in ‘doom and gloom’.

“Hotwire has transformed what we expect from public relations,” said Deborah Rodger, head of press and corporate communications at THUS. “Their creative methodology and approach has gone beyond standard agency fare, and has opened communications channels and produced ongoing dialogue with important and influential journalists and analysts. This has yielded some outstanding results that we otherwise may not have achieved.”

The IPRA Golden World Awards took place in New York on 5 February 2004. 33 winners from 14 different countries were awarded top prizes for excellence in public relations. “The winners showed evidence of world class, planning, execution and measurement,” said IPRA Jury Chairman Louis Capozzi.
