Hotwire has developed a structured approach to issues-based PR called the 'Issues Factory'. This tool combines two elements – input and output – just as in a factory.
At the core of the issues factory is input – a regularly refreshed list of targeted industry developments that the target media are or would be interested in, such as: market trends, new developments, seasonal trends, threats and legislation. Timed events, such as new government legislation, provide amazingly fertile material.
A client’s unique point of view on these issues will form the output and can be used as oxygen for a wide range of communications activities such as issues jumping, one-to-one journalist/analyst briefings, roundtable events, speaking opportunities and by-line articles. The Issues Factory often acts as the inspiration for a number of creative campaigns.
