At Hotwire we take our responsibilities seriously – to our clients, our team, our suppliers, and to the world around us. That’s why we have a team focused specifically on ensuring that we fulfil these responsibilities in everything we do. As a company we are committed to three core principles:
• We continuously strive to keep our carbon footprint as low as possible and consider the environmental impact of our actions as an organisation and on behalf of our clients
• We leverage our success as a business to help others and encourage our team to engage in charitable activities
• We take responsibility for our actions and behave ethically as an organisation and as individuals
This isn’t just talk – examples of some of our recent initiatives include:
Hannah Foster Memorial Academy: In January 2009, Hotwire donated £10,000 to the Hannah Foster Memorial Academy in Darjeeling, India. This school teaches 120 children aged 4-14 and provides an education for some of the poorest children in this remote area who would otherwise go without. The donation has so far paid for teaching staff, provided school books, improved facilities and has even sponsored several children to go into secondary education. For more information about the school visit: http://www.hannahmemorialacademy.org/
Foundation Fund: This allows employees to take paid leave in order to take part in charitable activities. So far several team members have taken advantage of this opportunity including one colleague who took days ‘off’ to help run an activity holiday for children with cancer in Chamonix, France. The event gave 20 children a rare chance to get away from the hospital environment and share their experiences with others, helping to normalise cancer for them as well as have plenty of fun to boot. More information can be found at: http://www.campquality.org.uk/
The environment: Over the course of 2008-9 Hotwire’s teams across Europe have taken some huge leaps towards being eco-friendly. If we can green it, we do it, including switching to renewable energy suppliers; banning taxis; recycling more; turning off the air conditioning; buying FairTrade and many more initiatives. There is still a way to go but the team is always on the look-out for new and fun ways we can improve our environment and our habits, in and out of the office.

In the past two years, Hotwire has supported us in increasing our presence in the UK by building awareness of EDB’s lending software service offering. We’ve been impressed by the team’s knowledge of the banking arena and their ability to implement a focussed thought leadership programme aimed at key decision makers in the corporate lending space.
