Hotwire’s newly launched energy practice starts work with Renewable Energy Association |
| London, 15th October 2008 - Hotwire, the international public relations agency, today announced that its recently launched energy practice will work with the Renewable Energy Association (REA). The REA is the largest UK renewables trade association uniquely representing interests across the whole spectrum of renewables. It has appointed Hotwire to help increase its media profile and to communicate its policy demands. Hotwire will support the REA through proactive thought leadership campaigns and specific programmes such as its live campaign to include a Renewable Energy Tariff to support smaller renewables in the current Energy Bill. |

So what is a feed-in tariff? |
| Hotwire has supported the REA's push to influence the feed-in tariff portion of the Energy Bill through a high profile event at the Houses of Parliament securing national and trade journalists to attend the event. Through publicity of the Early Day Motion that the REA, in association with Friends of the Earth, has been encouraging MPs to sign, Hotwire has been able to ensure that the issue of feed-in tarrifs was high on the media agenda ahead of the crucial final amendments and votes in Parliament. |
