Hotwire and Ipsos MORI seminar: Harnessing the Power of Blogs

Can you relate to any of the following:
"Blogs are, by definition, anti-corporate and personal. Corporates have no place
communicating on them"
"Until the authors and participants of blogs can be validated, they will never contain
anything of value"
"Unless I know who is talking and who is listening blogs, will never feature in my
communications plan"
"Show me the money! Prove to me that the blog community can be analysed,
validated and measured. And then that it can generate revenues!"
"Given the above, can I ignore them?"

You probably could tick them all… which is why Ipsos MORI and Hotwire would like to invite you to an exclusive seminar for the technology industry on ”Harnessing the Power of Blogs”.

Come and join the debate and network with your peers from the technology industry.

In September 2006 Ipsos MORI conducted a pan-European study aimed at providing crucial information for marketing communications professionals on the current and future influence of user generated content on blogs. In addition, Hotwire has been analysing how blogs can be utilised in PR campaigns. We have joined together to create a seminar that will answer the following questions:
  • ·  What is the impact of user generated content on blogs on my business now and in the future?
  • ·  How can blogs be influenced positively?
  • ·  How can I manage my brand image and reputation in this new world with limited controls?
  • ·  How can I measure the results and impact of blogs in a PR campaign?

Agenda
Gareth Deere, head of technology research, Ipsos MORI will present unpublished analysis covering:
·   The current perception of user generated content by the public and its impact on customer buying decisions
·   The perceived credibilty of this content in comparison to content published in the traditional media

Daljit Bhurji, digital media practice head at Hotwire, will present:
·   The current picture of the largest pan-European companies' attitude towards blogs
·   Real life examples of organisations using blogs for PR
·   How you can use blogs in your marketing mix and PR strategy

Charles Arthur, new media guru at the Guardian, will join Gareth and Daljit in a Q and A session.
