Hotwire Issue Radar: PCs and pyjamas drive UK office exodus

Young Brits have taken the Monday morning blues a step further and are shunning the corporate office – and corporate attire – in droves; instead choosing to work from home in the comfort of their pyjamas.

Those in the South West lead the way, with nearly one quarter (24.2%) ‘regularly or primarily working from home’, well above the national average (18.2%), according to a study organised by Hotwire for its client, Somura, which provides home PC support.

Those in East Anglia were the most likely to join the pyjama army, with nearly three in ten (29%) admitting to going straight from the bedroom to the desk without a wardrobe change, while those in the North East clung to their traditional business attire, with only 13% donning the PJs.
